In 1997, when he was only nine years old, he put out a record called "Self-Titled." The Florida native went on to make hit songs like "I Want Candy," "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)," "That's How I Beat Shaq," and "Bounce."

The singer, rapper, and actor was survived by his son Prince, whom he had with his ex-girlfriend Melanie Martin. In November 2021, the child was born to the former couple.
The US Sun reported in September 2022 that Carter had lost custody of his son. This made him start a month-long outpatient program at the Lionrock Recovery clinic in Los Angeles.

Nick Carter Pays Tribute To Aaron

Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter talked about his younger brother Aaron Carter's death for the first time in public on Sunday. Nick Carter wrote in a heartfelt post on Instagram:
My heart has been broken today. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held onto the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.- Nick Carter
Over the years, the two brothers had been on stage and in movies together. In 1997 and 1998, Aaron opened for the Backstreet Boys in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, as well as on the Backstreet's Back Tour.
Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you get a chance to finally have some peace you could never find here on earth. God, please take care of my baby brother.- Nick Carter
The brothers and their three other siblings also all appeared on the E! reality shows House of Carters. The show followed the Carters as they got back together in Los Angeles and worked on their relationships and careers. The show only ran for one season.
